Computer Keyboarding Applications

Want to spend a lot less time producing letters and reports? Want another chance to learn "touch typing?" - This course teaches the lifelong skill of touch typing the right way, not the hunt-and-peck method. Also emphasizes simple document formatting useful for letters and reports. Also, units/projects will cover Internet uses, implementation of scanners, digital cameras and "thumb drivers," as well as computer ethics and email. This course meets the computer credit for graduation for those students who have not met the minimum 24 wpm keyboarding requirement.
 
Money Management

Want more bling? Want to go to college, retire early, and be financially secure? There are no money magic secrets, just good decisions based on sound financial principles. This course introduces the skills necessary to better manage your personal financial life. Learn about budgeting, banking, savings and investments, credit, insurance and record keeping through the integrated use of computers. The software package Quicken will be taught and used for projects.
 
Web Design 1

Students will learn how to create full-featured web sites for personal, school, and private business use. Students will cover basics of HTML coding, use Adobe Dreamweaver to create/edit websites, and develop static and interactive graphics with Fireworks / Photoshop Elements. Three college credits available. Have you ever wanted to create a program you thought would make your life a little simpler? Then Visual Basic is for you! Microsoft’s Visual Basic is a programming language used for developing Windows applications. You’ll learn how to design, code, enter, compile, run and debug programs developed using Visual Basic. You’ll also learn proper programming techniques and good programming style using the visual development environment of Visual Basic. Applications you create range from a simple address book to more complex games

All business majors are required to take accounting classes in college — get a good background in it now. Web Design 2

Fun and creative! Students will work independently to pursue individual interests concerning web design projects. Students will have access to textbooks as well as Internet based instructional videos as resources for learning the Adobe Web Design suite. Using Adobe Dreamweaver, students will continue to create/edit web sites. Using Fireworks, students will be able to create and edit images with special effects. Using Flash, students will be able to create animated "movies" with motion tweens Integration of these software packages will take place during projects throughout the semester. Principles of Marketing (DECA - Fall)

First 1 Credit /1 Semester of a year long class. Understanding of the marketing concept and the business environment and management systems within it are implemented. Focuses on marketing functions and foundations and their relationship to the competitive enterprise system which controls marketing behavior. Marketing theory is presented and applied to business problems and practices.

Second 1 Credit/1 Semester of a year long class. Applies decision-making in personal and societal affairs in order to satisfyneeds and wants with limited resources that have alternative uses. The theories and principles of the free enterprise system at work in our society are studied. Meets State graduation requirements for economics if Principles of Marketing is taken second 1 Credit/1 Semester. Students will be able to take the State economics exit exam at the conclusion.

This is the second 1 Credit/1 Semester of Accounting. This course is highly recommended and completes your education of the accounting process for small businesses. The skills learned in high school accounting can enhance your worth to your employer. 3 college credits from North Idaho College through Tech Prep with completion of Accounting 2.
Note: Students must complete the entire Accounting sequence to receive college credit.
 
Principles of Management (DECA - Fall)
